Maya Taylor is a choreographer and movement director based in Los Angeles and New Orleans.
Clients of her movement include Solange Knowles, Régine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, SZA and St. Vincent. Her work has been performed on The Ellen Show, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and on various stages across the globe. Her most recent credits include TNT’s CLAWS (Seasons 1-3), Netflix’s The Dirt, The Lovebirds directed by Michael Showalter, and HULU’s Looking for Alaska. She has provided movement direction for high-profile fashion brands such as KREWE (ACTIVE campaign) and Collina Strada.
In 2019, Maya was nominated for an MTV VMA for Best Choreography for her work on Solange Knowles’ ALMEDA.
In addition to her commercial work, Maya has been commissioned to create contemporary works for Let's Dance International Frontiers, Perry Mansfield, New Orleans Ballet Theatre, Harvest Dance Chicago, Schramel Conservatory, Creighton University, University of Nebraska at Omaha, Regional Dance America, Omaha Performing Arts and Marigny Opera Ballet. Her work, One Thousand and One has also been featured in DANCE Magazine.
